A missing person is anyone whose whereabouts are unknown and the circumstances of the disappearance presents a risk of harm to the missing person or any other person.

All reports of a missing child should be made to An Garda Síochána by dialing 112 / 999.

 

All cases are managed by the local District Officer (Superintendent).

All missing children reports are treated as high risk by An Garda Síochána.

 

On a case by case basis, it is decided whether the appointment of a family liaison officer is necessary.
